Testing Times – Paperback by Shaykh Mufti Saiful Islam Sūrah Mumtahinah emphasises the hardships, struggles and trials the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam and the Companions radhiyallahu anhum faced due to the oppression the polytheists of Makkah Mukarramah put them through. They were constantly plotting and planning against our beloved Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam and his Companions radhiyallahu anhum, trying their best to turn them back to disbelief. The Muslims went through so much persecution yet still had full conviction in Allāh subhanahu wa ta’ala and they never became despondent. This teaches us that we should always have patience and faith in Allāh subhanahu wa ta’ala with whatever we are going through in life.
